TRINITY RIVER

The Trinity River holds both wild and hatchery steelhead of klamath river origin, as this river is a tributary to the Klamath river. With over 40 miles of fly fishable water, this is a top steelhead destination for those willing to brave the elements & target anadromous trout.
Scenic waterways, beautiful landscapes & hard fighting fish up to 30" & larger is the theme here. Steelhead, Salmon, & Brown Trout call this waterway home.
We typically float the river and cover water in search of fish pushing up the system. But sometimes we will get out of the boat and work the runs.
Indicator nymphing is one of the best methods to hook into these monster trout. But not limited to only that, dry fly, dry dropper, swung flies and euronymphing will produce as well.
The season/run depends on a lot of environmental factors, like rain, it can start in late September & go on though February/March/April for the fall/winter run. Summer run steelhead are an option as well, usually being a bit more scrappy when you find them.
