Fishing Report 8/8/23

the Lower Sacramento river is fishing excellent, in fact we have been finding some big fish along with good numbers. The top section opener was amazing thanks to everyone who came out!

Indicator nymphing is producing the most fish and is a overall the top method at the moment.

Some dry fly opportunity in the evening for the willing, as well as swung flies trout spey style, will put fish in the net. Dry dropper can be a excellent choice as well. So many options.

Caddis and Mayflys are hatching morning and evening with some small mayfly hatch's during the day. By following the hatch I can keep my clients on more fish. Match the hatch as they say. Very important when the river has a lot of pressure.

River flows continue to hover around 11k cfs. To me this has been a blessing I have been finding a lot more fish in places that would normally be dry. Overall the high flow is very fishy.
